Chapter Founder Scholarship:
Receive a partial or full scholarship for starting an SHH chapter on your campus. Email chapters@studentshelpinghonduras.org to get more info.Prerequisites:
- Minimum age to apply is 18 years or older. The applicant must attend a college or university that does not have an official SHH chapter. An "official chapter" is defined as an SHH body with a president OR a developing chapter registered through the SHH website. Note: those who have already traveled to Honduras in the past are still eligible to apply, however their university cannot already have an SHH chapter. SHH staff will make final determination on the status of any SHH-related group that may already exist on your campus.
Requirements:
- Register SHH as an official campus organization at a college or university that does not have an official SHH chapter
- Set up table at club fair and obtain 100 contacts with email addresses and phone numbers
- Post 500 trip flyers around your school
- Hold 3 interest meetings and/or presentations (i.e. Spanish class, campus ministry, human rights club, etc.)
- Lead 3 trip meetings
- Recruit five people from the same college or university to go on winter or spring 2011 trip*
- Organize 2 small trip fundraisers ($100+)
- Organize 1 medium trip fundraiser ($250+)
- Participate in 1 Skype meeting with Honduras
- Organize 1 team bonding event *If the chapter founder recruits 10 people to go on a winter 2010-2011 or spring/summer 2011 trip then she/he will receive an additional $300 voucher toward airfare.
