The Director of Student Engagement is responsible for overseeing the development of college and high school chapters. Although you will be in Honduras for most of the year, there may be a few months that you may need to help our recruitment efforts in the US. This extremely fast-paced job will mainly take place over emails, phone calls, and cups of coffee with our student members. You will need to be a self-motivated initiative-taker and be able set your own schedule. You might spend a good chunk of your time in our office or at a local coffee shop with WiFi, but will have some time to dive right into our on-the-ground projects and even travel across Honduras during weekends. The "VC" will be responsible for managing and preparing the logistics for all SHH service trips. To start, this means answering tons of emails and phone calls, sometimes from worried parents or volunteers who have never traveled before. This means waking up at 5AM during our service trips to pick up bananas for our volunteers, and going to bed at 1AM after listening to someone complaining about a broken fan and taking volunteers to the airport. But it also means going snorkeling in the Bay Islands or spending Fridays at an exotic Garifuna beach when leading group service trips. read more››
