Chuck Abbott joins SHH in Honduras

At Copprome Orphanage, SHH will soon inaugurate the recently-constructed Sunshine Education Center. Yet, no education center is complete without the projects and people that make learning happen. This Fall, Chuck Abbott will join SHH in Honduras as the Education Center Project Director. Chuck is a 2007 graduate of the College of William & Mary who holds Bachelor’s degrees in Hispanic Studies and International Studies. His first initiative will focus on designing a sustainable English as a Second Language (ESL) program.

The center, made possible by generous donations to our First Annual Walkathon, now features computers, internet access, art supplies, reading materials, and study aids. In the future, SHH looks forward to improving and expanding a burgeoning tutoring program designed to place all current Copprome girls in college by the year 2027. Chuck will work with SHH through November, when he will take advantage of a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship in Argentina.
