Team from Bilingual Education for Central America (BECA) Gives a Hand at Villa Soleada
Volunteers from the organization Bilingual Education for Central America (BECA) stopped by Villa Soleada for the day to see the site and give a hand with the construction. The volunteers were from Davidson College, working for a week with the BECA school in Cofradia, Honduras (http://www.becaschools.org/). While at Villa, they took a tour of the school were the children of Villa attend classes, while also helping to pour the concrete support beam for the education center's porch. With their help, the villagers were able to pour the entire support beam in half a day. Connections with other nonprofits in Honduras has become an easier process with the help of Project Honduras (http://www.projecthonduras.org/), which sponsors a yearly conference for nonprofits based in Honduras to be able to meet and share ideas.
