Boston College Nursing Students Spend Day at Villa Analyzing the Community's Health

Boston College nursing students, in Honduras as part of the first SHH spring break team, have spent the week working in the hospital in El Progreso. They also spent one day at Villa Soleada, taking health surveys with each of the families. They brought with them medical supplies and sanitation items, such as soap, tooth brushes and tooth paste. After finishing their work with each of the families, the students held a seminar on germs and good hygiene with the children of Villa Soleada. After the lesson was finished, they held a game show of hygiene facts, giving out soap and little bottles of hand sanitizer for each correct answer.
