JMU Volunteers Pour Foundation for the Base of the Education Center's Porch
Even though the arched support and the roof has been complete, workers had still not completed the frame for the education center's porch. Before a floor can be poured, cinder blocks must be laid to help define the shape and to contain the fill sand that must be brought in. JMU volunteers (who arrived a day early to El Progreso) helped to lay the concrete base, upon which the cinder blocks will be laid. Once the blocks are laid, sand must be brought in to bring the porch's floor to the same level as the interior floor of the education center.
